Borrowed light
Beckenham, Kent.
A tempo micro-project intervening in an existing building to create a new opening in the wall of a dressing room which borrows light from the adjacent stairwell rooflight. The angled geometry of the doors allows them to swing under the sloping roof, reflect light deeper into the dressing room and close the aperture from the landing below. On warm summer evenings the new opening allows cool breezes to flow across the bedroom from the roof light.
