A two phase project for a young family in Beckenham, Kent. A side return was added to the rear of the house, transforming an awkward L-shaped kitchen and dining area into a square, layered space, flooded with natural light from a large rooflight.

A sliding door creates a level connection to a raised terrace and the garden beyond. Finished with plain clay tiles the new extension matches the existing roof and a new dormer loft conversion.
